NDA Exam Date 2024: Admit Card, Eligibility, Vacancy, and Results

The NDA Exam is held biannually to choose qualified individuals for acceptance into the Army, Navy, and Air Force branches of the NDA and Indian Naval Academy Courses (INAC). In the upcoming year, the NDA Exam will be conducted for the 154th Course and the 116th Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC). Selection of eligible male and female candidates will involve a written Examination and SSB interviews.

This year, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is set to administer the UPSC NDA 2 exam on 1st September 2024 to enlist candidates for Officer positions in the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. The official notification for NDA 2 Exam 2024 was issued on 15th May 2024, providing comprehensive information on the selection process, exam structure, and related details.

The UPSC has officially announced the NDA Exam Date 2024 for the upcoming NDA 2 exams, as per the UPSC Calendar 2024. The Offline Written Examination for UPSC NDA-2 2024 is scheduled to take place on 1st September 2024. NDA Exam Vacancy Details 2024

The approximate number of vacancies that will need to be filled based on the results of this highly competitive examination is detailed as follows:

For the esteemed National Defence Academy, there are a total of 208 vacancies available in the Army, of which 10 are specifically reserved for female candidates, reflecting a commitment to inclusivity within the armed forces. In the Navy, there are 42 positions open, with 6 of those also designated for female candidates, further promoting gender diversity in this prestigious branch of service.

Turning to the Air Force, the opportunities are divided among various roles: there are 92 vacancies in the Flying branch, including 2 that are reserved for female candidates, while the Ground Duties (Technical) category offers 18 positions, with 2 specifically set aside for female aspirants as well. Additionally, in the Ground Duties (Non-Technical) sector, there are 10 vacancies, which also include 2 for female candidates.

Finally, for the Naval Academy under the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme, there are 34 vacancies available, with 5 of those reserved for female candidates, underscoring the ongoing efforts to enhance female representation in the navy. Cumulatively, this brings the total number of vacancies across all branches to an impressive 404, signifying ample opportunities for aspiring candidates eager to serve their country.

Availability of positions is subject to change based on the training capacity at the National Defence Academy and the Indian Naval Academy. This window will remain open for 7 days from the date of opening of the same i.e. from 05.06.2024 to 11.06.2024.

NDA Exam Eligibility Criteria Conditions 2024

Nationality: To be eligible, a candidate must be an unmarried individual, either male or female, and meet one of the following criteria:

(i) Be a citizen of India, or
(ii) Be a subject of Nepal, or
(iii) Be an individual of Indian descent who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or East

African nations like Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam with the intent to establish permanent residency in India. It is important to note that candidates falling under categories (ii) and (iii) must possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India. However, this certificate is not required for candidates who are Gorkha subjects from Nepal.

Age Limits

  • Only unmarried male/female candidates born not earlier than 2nd January, 2006 and not later than 1st January, 2009 are eligible.

NDA Exam Educational Qualifications 2024

For those aspiring to join the Army Wing of the National Defence Academy: a completion of the 12th grade under the 10+2 educational framework or an equivalent exam recognized by a State Education Board or University is required.

As for the Air Force and Naval Wings of the National Defence Academy, as well as the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy: candidates must have completed 12th grade with subjects in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics under the same 10+2 structure or an equivalent examination recognized by a State Education Board or University.

Additionally, individuals currently enrolled in the 12th grade under the 10+2 system or an equivalent examination are also eligible to apply for this examination.

Fee Structure of NDA Exam 2024

All applicants, with the exception of SC/ST individuals, female candidates, and the children of JCOs/NCOs/ORs mentioned in Note 2 below who do not need to pay a fee, must submit a payment of Rs. 100/- (one hundred rupees). This can be done by depositing cash at any State Bank of India branch, or through Visa, Master, RuPay credit/debit cards, UPI payments, or via internet banking from any bank.

How to Apply for NDA Exam 2024?

To apply, candidates must visit the website upsconline.nic.in and complete their application online. First, it’s crucial for applicants to register on the One Time Registration (OTR) platform, which can be found on the Commission’s site. This registration is a one-time requirement and can be completed at any point during the year. If a candidate has already registered, they can directly move on to filling out the online application for the exam.

Candidates can modify their OTR profile only once after registration, with changes allowed until June 11, 2024, following their first application. They can also correct application form details from June 5 to June 11, 2024, but OTR profile changes must be done through the OTR platform, not the application form modification window. Candidates must provide and upload a photo ID (e.g., Aadhar, Voter Card) during application, which is required for future reference and must be carried to the examination. Withdrawals after application submission are not permitted.
