AICPIN Feb 2024: Why Hasn’t it Been Published Yet?: The important data of the Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers with the Base Year 2026-100, which is crucial for calculating Dearness Allowance (DA) and Industrial Dearness Allowance (IDA) for employees working in Central Government and Public Sector Units, has not yet been published by the Labour Bureau. The Department has not provided any explanation for the delay, leaving many employees in uncertainty about their future earnings.
Meanwhile, the Employees Trade Union in BSNL has taken the initiative to inform its members by publishing the information on its official website, ensuring transparency and keeping employees informed about their financial benefits.

IDA increase to be paid w.e.f. 01.01.2024 – our comrades kindly note, please.
It is already 2nd April today. Our comrades would have been waiting for the CHQ to give information regarding the expected IDA increase, to be paid w.e.f 01.04.2024. However, it is most surprising that the Labour Bureau has not released the Price Index numbers for the month of February 2024. As a result, IDA increase w.e.f. 01.04.2024 could not be calculated. CHQ will inform the expected IDA increase, as and when the data is released by the Labour Bureau.

Consumer Price Index Numbers for Agricultural and Rural Laborers – February 2024
In the month of February 2024, the All India Consumer Price Index for Agricultural Laborers (CPI-AL) and Rural Laborers (CPI-RL), with a base year of 1987=100, remained consistent at 1258 and 1269, respectively.

A varied trend was observed across different states in terms of their constituent indices. Eight states experienced a decline in the CPI-AL, while seven states saw a decrease in the CPI-RL. Furthermore, two states maintained unchanged index values.
The inflation rates for the month, based on the CPI-AL and CPI-RL, were reported at 7.43% and 7.36% in February 2024, reflecting a decline from 7.52% and 7.37% in January 2024, respectively.
