The Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, in a recent development, has taken the decision to put a temporary halt on para 88(a) of the Judgement dated 22.12.2023 of the Hon’ble High Court of Madras, in Writ Appeal No. 680 of 2023 and other associated cases. This decision was made evident through official orders dated 17.05.2024 in Special Leave Petition (Civil) No(s). 7906/2024, which is related to the ongoing recruitment process for the position of Motor Vehicle Inspector, Grade II, as per Notification No. 03/2018 dated 14.02.2018. TNPSC MVI Grade II Recruitment 2018: Age & Education Eligibility
Applicants belonging to SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BCs, and BCMs have no maximum age limit for eligibility. For candidates categorized as ‘Others,’ including Differently Abled individuals, the maximum age limit is 42 years. Ex-servicemen are eligible up to the age of 48 years.
Regarding educational qualifications and experience required as of 14.02.2018, applicants must hold SSLC certification along with either a three-year Diploma in Automobile Engineering or a three-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Tamil Nadu.
In terms of experience, candidates should have a minimum of one year working full-time on vehicles with both Petrol and Diesel Engines in an automobile workshop that repairs Light Motor Vehicles, Heavy Goods Vehicles, and Heavy Passenger Motor Vehicles. Additionally, they must possess a valid driving license for operating Motorcycles, Heavy Goods Vehicles, and Heavy Passenger Motor Vehicles, with at least six months of experience driving Heavy Transport Vehicles after obtaining the required license.
TNPSC MVI Grade II Recruitment 2018: Selection Process
The TNPSC MVI Grade II Recruitment 2018 involves a meticulous selection process that consists of two crucial stages. Firstly, candidates will have to undergo a comprehensive Written Examination, followed by an Oral Test which takes the form of a detailed interview. Subsequently, the final selection will be determined based on the total marks obtained by the applicants in both the Written Examination and the Oral Test combined, adhering strictly to the guidelines of reservation of appointments.
It is mandatory for candidates to appear in both the written papers as well as the oral test. After assessing the marks scored by the candidates in the Written Examination, the Commission will unveil a tentative list of eligible candidates for the certificate verification process on its official website. Following the verification of original certificates, the eligible candidates will be summoned for the Oral Test, ensuring that the rule of reservation of appointments is upheld throughout the selection process.
