SSC CGL Exam 2024: Selection Process

The SSC CGL Exam 2024 selection process involves a multi-tiered Computer Based Examination encompassing Tier-I, Tier-II, and the Final Selection Process.

Tier-I Examination, to be completed within one hour, comprises 100 questions across four sections: General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension. The maximum mark attainable in Tier-I is 200.

Moving on to Tier II, this phase consists of three papers: Papers I, II, and III. The format of Tier II is predominantly Objective Type multiple-choice questions, with bilingual options available in English and Hindi for most sections except for the English Language And Comprehension module.

For Tier-II negative marking, Section-I, Section-II, and Module-I of Section-III in Paper-I incur a deduction of 1 mark for each incorrect answer. Conversely, Paper II and Paper III penalize 0.50 marks for every wrong response.

It’s important to note that successful completion of Paper-I is mandatory for all candidates across various positions. Furthermore, candidates must attempt all three sections of Paper I.

Candidates’ performance in Sections I and II of Paper I determines their eligibility for evaluation in Section III. Failing to meet the qualifying criteria in Sections I and II will result in exclusion from Section III and subsequent stages of the SSC CGL tier-II examination.”
