Cabinet Approved to Implement 7th Karnataka Pay Commission Recommendations
Implementation of 7th Karnataka Pay Commission Recommendations 2024: The state government in Bengaluru has made a significant decision to finally put into effect the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission for state government employees. This decision was reached during a cabinet meeting overseen by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The authority to implement these recommendations was granted to the Chief Minister during the meeting at Vidhansouda. This move brings the government employees closer to the realization of their longstanding desire for the implementation of the seventh pay commission.
7th Karnataka Pay Commission: 27% Salary Increase for Karnataka Employees
The Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced in the Legislative Assembly yesterday that the State Government employees will see an increase in their salaries, following the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission. This will result in a minimum salary of Rs. 27,000 and a maximum of up to Rs. 2.41 lakh for the government employees. The new salary structure will come into effect from August 1st.
The Karnataka State Government employees had been demanding a salary hike as per the 7th Pay Commission for a long time. During the previous administration, protests were also held.
When B.S. Yediyurappa was serving as the Chief Minister, it was announced that the salaries would be increased as per the 7th Pay Commission recommendations. At that time, the Commission recommended raising the basic salary by 27.50 percent, which was later revised to 17 percent.
7th Karnataka Pay Commission: 27.5% DA from 1.7.2022
The 7th Pay Commission has recommended increasing the basic salary of State Government employees, pensioners’ dearness allowance by 27.50 percent from July 1, 2022, and a further revision for the enhancement of salaries is under review by the government.
As per the review, the salary enhancement will be implemented from July 15, 2024, based on the recommendations made during the previous administration held on July 1, 2022. The basic salary will be increased by 27.50 percent initially and further revised to 31 percent.
7th Karnataka Pay Commission: Teachers & Professors Pay Hike
Currently, the minimum salary of Rs. 17,000 will be increased to Rs. 27,000, and the maximum salary will be raised from Rs. 1,50,600 to Rs. 2,41,200. This will be effective starting this month. The new salary structure will reflect in the bank accounts from August 1st.
Moreover, there will be an increase in dearness allowance ranging from Rs. 75,300 to Rs. 1,20,600. This salary increment will benefit teachers receiving monthly payments, professors in colleges, and university professors alike.
