Goa RTE School Admission List 2026-27 PDF: The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act, 2009 in India is a significant legislation that has been implemented across all States and Union Territories, following the guidelines set by the central government. Virtually every State government has adopted this scheme, albeit with minor variations in nomenclature. The Directorate of the Goa Education Department has announced that there will be no exceptions regarding the age requirement for admission into Class 1 for the academic year 2026-27. All government, aided, and private schools are required to adhere to the stipulation that students must be at least 6 years old by 1st July 2026. Additionally, the age criteria for nursery and pre-primary classes have already been established as 4 and 5 years, respectively.
Specifically, the act mandates that 25% of the total seats in unaided private schools must be reserved for children belonging to economically weaker sections and disadvantaged groups. Consequently, a quarter of the available seats in Class 1 or equivalent classes in Kindergarten must be allocated to underprivileged children in private schools that do not receive government funding. To ensure transparency and accessibility, the RTE admission list must be conspicuously displayed on the Notice Board of each respective school. This initiative presents a tremendous opportunity for economically disadvantaged children to secure admission in private schools and receive quality education at no cost.
