Lakshadweep RTE School Admission List 2025-26 PDF: As per the RTE Act 2009, which is a significant legislation concerning education, all states and Union Territories are required to enforce the ‘Right to Free and Compulsory Education’ rule in all unaided private schools each academic year.
The RTE Act stipulates that all private schools must reserve 25 percent of their seats for children hailing from socially disadvantaged and economically backward backgrounds. Specifically, as per the RTE Act, private schools are obligated to allocate 25% of their seats at the entry level, which includes Lower Kindergarten (LKG) and Class I, for children belonging to economically and socially disadvantaged sections of society. Additionally, the state government accords priority to children of conservancy workers, those affected by HIV, individuals with disabilities, and orphans in the admissions process under the RTE Act.
The admission procedure should be initiated through notifications, allowing ample time for online applications to be submitted for admission to the nearest private school. Moreover, the selection process should be conducted openly and transparently, possibly through a Draw of Lots scheme. Subsequently, the results of this selection process should be made public by displaying the list of selected candidates on the school notice board and uploading the information on the school’s official website, including the names and roll numbers of all the successful applicants.
